RATE YOUR RIDE SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER WINNERS

by MTA Rate Your Ride on January 16, 2014

The MTA and Baltimore City Public Schools have teamed up to encourage Rate Your Ride. Every month of the school year through May 2014, MTA is randomly drawing one lucky phone number from the ratings it’s received from BCPS students. The winner receives a Nook and a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble. The prizes are sponsored by the Baltimore Student Attendance Campaign, The Central Maryland Transportation Alliance, The Open Society Institute – Baltimore and Barnes & Noble.

Winners Circle

The September winner was Sharde Henson, a 10th grader from Academy for College & Career Exploration (ACCE) School.

The October winner was Mieyana Sulton, an 11th grader from Baltimore City College.

Riding the bus they saw the MTA advertisement. Filling out the surveys was cool to win something free and give their opinions. By answering five simple questions they entered to win a Nook; something they didn’t already have.

They were given a tour of our MTA offices and awarded their prizes. These were presented from Michael Walk, Director of Service Development of the MTA.

Using the simulator gives a strong example of how hard the drivers’ jobs really are. It gives the opportunity to associate reaction time, problem-solving, decision-making and judgment all at the same time. The situation repeats until the proper actions are retained. Our MTA drivers use this device before they are put into a bus.
